Vegetable Prices Hike: The rising prices of tomatoes have been in the news for many days, but now other vegetables are also giving a blow to inflation. In many states of the country, the prices of mangoes and special vegetables have become very expensive and the general public is not able to understand how to bear the current of this inflation. In many states, daily vegetables are also available at such high prices that it has become a problem for the people to cook, which vegetable to make – which does not spoil the budget.
Vegetable prices skyrocket in Patna
In Bihar’s capital Patna, vegetables like cauliflower and cabbage are available at the rate of Rs 60 per kg. Not only this, now states like West Bengal and Odisha are also facing the increase in the prices of vegetables. According to a report in Times of India, the prices of vegetables have been increasing in Patna since the beginning of May. Where the maximum jump has come in the rate of tomato, other vegetables are also giving rise to inflation. The prices of vegetables like cauliflower, cabbage to okra have almost doubled. Cauliflower which was Rs 40 per kg in May is now at Rs 60 per kg, cabbage has increased from Rs 30-40 per kg to Rs 60 per kg. The prices of potato and onion have increased from Rs 20 per kg in May to Rs 30-35 per kg in July.
Vegetables are expensive in West Bengal too
West Bengal is also named among other states in which the prices of vegetables and fruits are rising. According to a PTI report, the prices of vegetables have jumped by 30-35 per cent in West Bengal. The green chillies which were at Rs 150 per kg a week back are now at the rate of Rs 300-350 per kg. On the other hand, tomatoes are being sold in the range of Rs 130-150 per kg.
Bad condition in Odisha too
In Odisha, the prices of vegetables have jumped strongly in the last 15 days. The rates of tomatoes are between Rs 140-160 per kg, while the rates of green chillies are at Rs 200 per kg. Ginger has become more expensive and is at Rs 300 per kg.
People upset in Delhi
Even in Safal store in Delhi, the price of tomato is Rs 129 per kg and the public here has reduced the purchase of this vegetable.
What is the condition of Uttar Pradesh
Similarly, the rate of tomato has gone up to Rs 150 per kg in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. People troubled by the rising prices of tomatoes appeal to the government that something should be done in this matter so that the general public can get relief and at least they can make arrangements for daily food at the right prices.
