Indian Payment Service: NPCI International Payments, the international wing of NPCI, has partnered with global payment service provider Worldline. With this partnership, the Indian payment service will also be able to work in Europe. NPCI International Payments is a unit of India’s digital payment service provider NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India). Due to the partnership with Worldline, Indian customers will now be able to use UPI and RuPay service in Europe. To promote Indian business, payment can be done in European countries also through PoS (Point of Sale).
Due to this partnership of NPCI International and Worldline, Indians who go to Europe will find it easier to use RuPay cards and UPI. Apart from this, the economy and business of both the countries will benefit from this partnership. Let us tell you, with UPI, customers can link multiple bank accounts through a single mobile app. This makes it easy for customers to send and receive money.
Joint Statement of Worldline and NPCI International
While releasing a joint statement, Worldline and NPCI International said that UPI users will be able to make payments in European countries through Worldline QR. Soon, plans are being made to expand UPI to many more countries including Switzerland. India is currently an important market for Europe. Before COVID-19, about 10 million (1 crore) Indians traveled from India to European countries every year. After the lifting of the restrictions of Kovid, the number of Indian tourists is expected to increase once again.
UPI made a record
According to NPCI, UPI has recently set a record of 38.74 billion transactions. During this, a total of Rs 78.52 lakh crore has been transferred through UPI. At present, UPI is being described as the best real time payment ecosystem in the world. Similarly, 1.3 billion transaction records have been made through RuPay cards so far. This is the reason that both these digital payment systems of NPCI are being liked globally.
