5G Service Jobs: With 5G service, the internet speed will increase in the country, as well as there are huge possibilities of increasing employment. According to a report, more than 45 thousand job opportunities will be generated in the next two quarters with the introduction of 5G services. At the same time, about 80 thousand people have got employment so far. India’s top two telecom companies Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel have both announced the initial launch of their 5G services in the country.
The demand for 5G-linked profiles, however, is not limited to telecom service providers. Sachin Alug, chief executive of staffing firm NLB Services, said there is a growing demand for 5G tech talent from industries such as healthcare, retail, manufacturing and auto. The overall hiring, focused on 5G, has grown by 15-20% quarter-on-quarter. However, he said that most of the demand is from telcos. Profiles such as Networking Engineer, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Specialist, User Experience Designer, Cloud Computing Specialist, Cyber Security Specialist, and Data Science and Data Analytics Specialist are the most sought-after profiles with a quarter-on-quarter growth of 20%.

Director Randstad India Sanjay Shetty says that we estimate that the 5G roll out will generate around 35,000 to 45,000 new vacancies in sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, logistics, banking and education. The job posts related to 5G have already increased by 68-70% since the beginning of 2022. Non-telecom companies can seek professionals in areas including infrastructure development, equipment, network operations and spectrum services for positions such as network administration, testing and software development.
