Indian Railways: Indian Railways has made huge profits from April to January 2023 last year. Railways has registered a growth of 73 percent during this period. Indian Railways has informed about this on Thursday, 2 February. Railway Ministry said that between April 2022 and January 2023, Rs 54,733 crore has been earned by selling tickets.
Railways had earned Rs 31,634 crore by selling tickets during this period a year ago. The ministry said that the revenue of the Railways has increased by 73 percent in this financial year. Railway’s revenue from reservation quota increased by 48 percent to Rs 42,945 crore, while in FY22 this figure was Rs 29,079 crore.
How many passengers booked tickets
The total estimated number of passengers booked from April 1, 2022 to January 31, 2023 is 659 million, which is 7 percent higher than 618 million during the same period last fiscal. At the same time, between April 1, 2022 and January 31, 2023, the revenue in the last financial year from the reserve quota was Rs 2,555 crore. In this financial year, it has increased by 361 percent to Rs 11,788 crore.
Increased number of passengers in quota without reservation
From April 1, 2022 to January 31, 2023, the number of passengers booked by the Railways through unreserved quota has increased by 128 percent to 4.52 billion from 1.98 billion in the same period last year. Let us tell you that the Railways has got Rs 2.40 lakh crore in this budget. The Railway Minister has said about this that this money will be spent for the development of the Railways.
Railway stations will be developed
Railways will spend the budget money to develop Vande Bharat Express, run Vande Metro train, hydrogen train and bullet train. Along with this, railway stations will also be developed. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has said that about 1275 trains will be developed.
