Digi Yatra App: Today, from 1 December 2022, the government has introduced paperless entry at select airports to take the hassle out of air travel. Now airports will use facial recognition software called “Digi Yatra” for entry. With this, passengers will not need to carry their ID card and boarding pass for entry at the airport. Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has launched Digi Yatra in the national capital today. Let’s know about it in detail.
Airports with Digi Yatra
It is reported that in the first phase Digi Yatra will be launched at seven airports. Today, it has been launched in three airports – Delhi, Bengaluru and Varanasi. After this, by March 2023, it will be launched at four airports namely Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune and Vijayawada. After this, the technology will be implemented across the country.
What is Digi Yatra?

Digi Yatra is specially designed to provide paperless and hustle-free traveling experience to the passengers. This mobile app works on face recognition technology. Passengers’ faces are recognized in this, and this allows self-bag drop and check-in. However, to use this facility, passengers will have to create Digi Yatra ID. It is currently being launched for domestic flight passengers.
How to get Digi Yatra ID?
If you want to get Digi Yatra ID then you can get an ID by sharing minimum details like name, e-mail ID, mobile number and one identity proof details. Aadhaar ID is not mandatory to get it. Passengers will have to share their Digi Yatra ID while booking tickets. Thereafter, airlines will share passenger data and DigiYatra ID with the departure airport
