Panchkanya Story in Hindi: In Hinduism, many stories, beliefs and traditions are associated with goddesses. - Goddess Ahilya: Goddess Ahilya is mentioned in the Balkand of Valmiki Ramayana. Apart from being beautiful, Ahilya was a cultured, gentle and virtuous woman. Ahilya was married to sage Gautam. According to the scriptures, sage Gautama once went out of the hermitage early in the morning for a bath. That’s why Shachi’s husband Indra treacherously misbehaved with Ahilya. When sage Gautam came to know about this, he cursed both Indra and Ahilya. Goddess Ahilya also apologized to sage Gautama and said that she has no fault in this. But sage Gautam did not agree and cursed Ahilya that you will live like a rock. In Tretayug, when Sri Vishnu will incarnate as Ram, then you will be saved only by his feet. After this, Ahilya was saved by Lord Rama and she was called a lifelong virgin.
- Draupadi: According to the scriptures, Draupadi was born from Yagya. Draupati was a beautiful, patient and chaste woman. To say that Draupati was the wife of five Pandavas and the mother of five sons. But despite this, Draupadi was always called a virgin. Actually, when Draupadi was being stripped, when Shri Krishna saved her shame. It is said that Lord Krishna had given Draupadi the boon of remaining a virgin forever.
- Mandodari, Mandodari, the wife of Lankapati Ravana, is also known as Chir Kumari, who was the daughter of demon king Mayasur and Hema. Mandodari’s mother Hema was Apsara. But the father belonged to the demon clan. For this reason Mandodari was very beautiful and half demon. Mandodari got the boon of marriage with Ravana from Lord Shiva. After marrying Ravana, Mandodari gave birth to sons like Akshay Kumar, Meghnad and Atikaya. Mandodari was blessed with eternal virginity. That’s why her virginity was not broken even after giving birth to sons.
- Tara: Tara was an Apsara who emerged from the churning of the ocean. Tara got married with Bali. When Bali’s brother Sugriva killed him by deceit, Tara cursed Shri Ram that he would also lose his wife Sita after getting it. At the same time, Tara also said that in the next birth, Rama would die at the hands of Bali. After this, Lord Vishnu was born as Lord Krishna in Dwapar Yuga and his incarnation ended at the hands of a hunter named Bhil Jara, who was the second birth of Bali. Tara was also blessed to remain a virgin for life.
- Kunti: Kunti used to serve the Mahatmas who came to the palace. Once sage Durvasa had come to the palace. Sage Durvasa was pleased with Kunti’s hospitality and said, ‘Daughter! I am pleased with your service, so I give you a mantra. The deity you remember with this mantra will immediately appear in front of you and fulfill your wish. Kunti was married to King Pandu of Hastinapur. But Pandu was cursed that if he touches his wife Kunti, he will die. But he was worried that after his death, the Kuru dynasty would end. Kunti received a wonderful mantra from sage Durvasa, from which Kunti received Yudhishthira from Dharma Dev, Bhima from Vasudev and Arjuna from Indra Dev as a son. In this way, Kunti’s virginity was considered sacred even after getting a child from the gods.
