7th Pay Commission: Now the government employees and pensioners of another state government have got good news. Odisha’s Naveen Patnaik government has decided to increase Dearness Allowance, ending the wait of the employees. On Tuesday, the state government announced a 4 percent increase in DA (Odisha Government Hike DA). After this increase, the DA of state employees and pensioners has increased from 38 percent to 42 percent (DA Hike News). This decision will be applicable from January 1, 2023.
4 percent increase in dearness allowance
According to Odisha Government, 7.5 lakh employees and pensioners of the state government will get the direct benefit of this dearness allowance increase. Now they will get the benefit of 42 per cent DA instead of 38 per cent. The government has announced that the salary will be given by including the increased DA in the salary of June, 2023. At the same time, the arrears of the increased DA from January to May will be given to the employees and pensioners.
These states also increased dearness allowance
Before the Odisha Government, the Siddaramaiah Government of Karnataka had also given a gift of increase in dearness allowance to the employees and pensioners of the state. The state government had increased the DA in Karnataka from 31 percent to 35 percent. This DA has been implemented from January 1, 2023. Apart from this, the governments of Bihar, Haryana and Tamil Nadu have also decided to increase the DA.
