Sunil Gavaskar on Jasprit Bumrah: Jasprit Bumrah has been out of the T20 World Cup. BCCI made this announcement on Monday night. Bumrah had to be ruled out of this big tournament due to not fully recovering from the back injury. Former Indian cricketers are terming the news of Bumrah’s exit as a big loss for Team India. The name of great cricketer Sunil Gavaskar is also included in this list. Gavaskar has said that India will miss Bumrah a lot. He said that there is no other bowler in the Indian team who misses so much.

In his column for ‘Mid-Day’, Gavaskar writes, ‘Jasprit Bumrah’s absence in the World Cup will definitely harm Team India. I respect all the bowlers but will say that there is no other bowler in Team India, who will miss so much.

Gavaskar writes, ‘We recently saw how other bowlers also got support in the two matches in which Bumrah played. It is clear that his absence is a big blow to India’s prospects in the T20 World Cup. Well, the way Deepak Chahar and Arshdeep bowled in Thiruvananthapuram, taking full advantage of the conditions, there is definitely a hope that with a little luck, they can fill the space which seems to be vacant due to the absence of Bumrah.

There will be problems in powerplay and death bowling
Jasprit Bumrah has been the lead bowler of Team India for a long time. His being in the team strengthens the Indian bowling attack in the powerplay and death overs. Now that there will be no Bumrah in the T20 World Cup, then the Indian team may have to face a challenge in these crucial overs.
