Stock Market Closing On 27 June 2023: Tuesday has proved to be very auspicious for the Indian stock market. Buying returned in banking stocks as soon as the news of the merger of HDFC Bank and HDFC Bank coming into effect from July 1. Bank Nifty saw a jump of more than 500 points. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex closed at 63,416 with a jump of 446 points, while the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 18,817 points with a jump of 126 points.
Sectoral Update
The best speed in today’s trade has been seen in the stocks of banking and financial sector. Bank Nifty crossed the 44,000 mark due to buying in banking stocks. Bank Nifty has closed at 44,121 points with a jump of 480 points. Looking at other sectors, buying was seen in the shares of Auto, IT, Pharma, Metals, Real Estate, Media, Energy, Infra, Healthcare, Consumer Durables sector. While there has been a decline in the shares of Oil & Gas and FMCG sector.
The mid cap index has seen a tremendous growth due to the buying of mid cap stocks. Small cap stocks have also closed with a spectacular jump. Of the 30 Sensex stocks, 27 closed with gains and of the 50 Nifty stocks, 38 closed with gains and 12 closed with losses.
Rs 1.44 lakh crore jump in investors’ wealth
Due to the boom in the stock market, there has been a huge jump in the wealth of the investors. The market cap of BSE has closed at the level of Rs 292.11 lakh crore at the close of the market, which was Rs 290.67 lakh crore in the previous trading session. In today’s trading session, there has been a jump of Rs 1.44 lakh crore in the wealth of investors. However, the stock markets will remain open on Wednesday. Earlier the market was closed on Wednesday. But now Eid holiday will be on Thursday.
