Anarock gave the figure of empty houses
Real estate advisory company Anarock has said that the number of unsold houses with builders in seven major cities has come down by 12 per cent in the last five years. Now it will take only 20 months to remove these vacant houses. It was previously estimated to take twice as long to evacuate or sell vacant homes.
Number of vacant houses decreased by 12 percent in 5 years
In its recent report, Anarock said that the number of vacant houses fell by 12 per cent from 7,13,400 units as on March 31, 2018 to 6,26,750 units by January-March this year. Anarock said that the current pace of sales for developers has reduced the estimated time to evacuate the vacant units from 42 in March 2018 to 20 months now.

Anuj Puri, chairman of Anarock, said that the number of unsold houses has decreased due to the boom in the sale of houses. Housing sales in the top seven cities hit a record 1.14 lakh units in the first quarter of this year, showing a spectacular jump in home sales.
