According to the government, this is because this batch of students was part of the Kovid batch, which studied online and alternative methods of evaluation were adopted in different classes. However, the pass percentage of class IX is better at 60.55% as against 57.79% in 2018-19. Due to the announcement of lockdown in 2019-20, the annual examination could not be held. At the same time, in the last 6 years, the lowest pass percentage of 11th class has been in the session 2022-23. Before Corona it was 80.07% and after compartment exam this number increased to 84.83%.
Physical classes held
A senior official of the Delhi government says that there has been a decline in the pass percentage, the reason for which was Corona. Due to this the students were not able to appear in the examination. The pass percentage from 2019-20 to 2021-22 has been above 95%. Due to Kovid, the government had relaxed the evaluation and promotion guidelines. Normal academic calendar restored and physical classes held in 2022-23.
The pass percentage increased during the time of Corona
Let us tell you that a large number of students have failed in the 9th class examination earlier also. According to the Times of India report, the lowest pass percentage (57.42%) in the last six years was in the year 2017-18. After compartment this figure improved to 60.52%. The pass percentage was 57.79% in 2018-19 before the Kovid era and it remained only 58.56% even after the compartment results. The pass percentage of class IX ranged from 88.49% to 84.72% in the last three academic sessions during the Corona period.
