Notice To Whatsapp: The central government is preparing to send a notice to WhatsApp. In recent times, many users have complained that they are receiving spam calls from international numbers through WhatsApp on their mobile phones, regarding which the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is about to send a notice to WhatsApp.

Giving this information, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that it is the responsibility of these social media platforms to maintain the security and trust of the users. This is their responsibility. He said that if anything like this happens, the ministry takes cognizance of it and it is their duty to respond. He told that soon a notice will be issued to WhatsApp and an answer will be sought.

In fact, a user had given this information by tweeting on Twitter that WhatsApp is using the microphone in the background. On May 10, Rajeev Chandrasekhar tweeted on this user’s tweet that it is a violation of privacy which cannot be accepted. He wrote in his tweet that we will study the matter and take action if privacy is violated. He told that a new Digital Personal Data Projection Bill is being prepared.

Many other users also made a similar complaint on social media that they are getting such spam calls on WhatsApp. Users say that these spam calls are coming from Indonesia (+62), Vietnam (+84), Malaysia (+60), Kenya (+254) and Ethiopia (+251).
