Telecom companies in India 2022: The Modi government at the center has given a big relief to the telecom companies. Telecom companies across the country were discussing the vacant land with Indian Railways for a long time. After these efforts, now the way is visible to be clear. According to media reports, the Central Government has cleared the way for providing services to the telecom companies of Railways. After which telecom companies will be able to use railway land.

According to reports, the Ministry of Railways has opened the doors of its telecom services to private companies and allowed them to set up telecom towers on railway land. Till now this right was with the Telecom Unit of Railways – RailTel Corporation of India. But now other private companies can also apply.
Private investor’s investment will increase
Such a step has been taken to increase the private investor in Railways. The initiative comes just a few months after the Railways relaxed the land license fee (LLF) norms. As per the new LLF policy, the existing rate of 7 per cent revenue share for mobile towers has been abolished. Now 1.5 percent of the market value of the land will be applicable as annual land use fee.
Instructions issued to regional offices of Railways
According to sources, this initiative has been taken to promote 5-G services in the country. Guidelines have been issued to the regional offices of the Railways. With this permission, the future network needs of the Railways will be met prominently. It may be noted that till now the telecommunication needs of Railways were open only to RailTel. Now it is going to open for private companies also. This company will set up telecom towers. Those towers will also be used commercially.
there was a ban earlier
Ministry of Railways had issued an order in the year 2016 barring any other company except RailTel from erecting towers on railway land. But now this order has been withdrawn. In the new policy, permission has been given to install equipment and small cells on poles in railway offices and station premises of 70 railway divisions.
