Team India in danger of defeat in Dhaka Test, but Siraj said – nothing to worry, Pant and Iyer are there

IND vs BAN 2nd Test: The third day of the second Test being played in Dhaka between India and Bangladesh was very exciting. The Indian team has got a target of 145 runs to win the match, in response to which they have scored 45 runs at the loss of four wickets till the end of the day’s play. The danger of defeat is looming over India, but Team India’s fast bowler Mohammad Siraj says that there is nothing to worry about.

Fast bowler Mohammad Siraj said that there is no need to worry, because the long innings of any one batsman will be enough to win the team. Siraj said in a press conference after the end of the third day’s play, I think we should not think too much now, because we have lost only four wickets. We need around 80 (100) more runs. We just need a long innings from one batsman, Akshar is showing the right intent at the crease.

At stumps on the third day of the match, Akshar Patel was playing for 26 while Jaydev Unadkat was scoring three runs. India need 100 more runs to win. Siraj said, yes, we lost two extra wickets but Akshar has adjusted to the pitch, he is showing strong spirit. After this we also have Rishabh (Pant) and Shreyas (Iyer), so we should not worry too much.

If the Indian team scores 145 runs, then it will be the third highest score in the fourth innings on this ground. Earlier, 209, 205 and 103 runs were scored while successfully chasing the target in the fourth innings on this ground.

Chasing the target, the Indian team quickly lost the wickets of KL Rahul (02) and Cheteshwar Pujara (06), after which coach Rahul Dravid sent Akshar Patel to bat at number four.

Siraj said, sending Akshar Patel was the decision of the team management. I think if there are left and right handed batsmen then it is difficult for the bowlers to adjust.

The Hyderabad bowler took the wickets of Mominul Haque (five) and Liton Das (73) in the second innings as India bundled out Bangladesh for 231. Siraj said, there is extra bounce for fast bowlers on this pitch, so I was trying to bowl as much as possible in difficult areas for the batsmen. We were getting extra bounce and our plan was to hit the ball hard.
