Tata Trusts: Siddharth Sharma becomes new CEO of Tata Trusts, Aparna Uppaluri becomes Chief Operating Officer

Tata Trusts: Former bureaucrat Siddharth Sharma has been appointed as the new CEO of Tata Trusts. Former Ford Foundation officer Aparna Uppaluri has been made the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The appointments for both the posts of CEO and COO will be effective from April 1, 2023. Tata Trust has given this information.

Siddharth Sharma will replace N Srinath, who had stepped down from the post of CEO after his retirement last year. Siddharth Sharma, 54 years old, has held important positions in different ministries of the Government of India for two decades. He has also been the financial advisor to the 13th and 14th President. Later he joined Tata group. He was heading the newly formed Sustainability portfolio there.

After Ford Foundation, Aparna Uppaluri is now going to be a part of Tata Trust and she has been made Chief Operating Officer. Aparna, 48, is currently posted as Program Director for India, Nepal and Sri Lanka at the Ford Foundation. Tata Trusts said that Aparna Uppaluri is a respected professional who has a good knowledge of strategic planning and program development in the field of charity, women’s rights, public health, arts and culture. With over 20 years of leadership and management experience, she has worked extensively for gender justice at the Ford Foundation.

Tata Trusts hold 66 per cent stake in Tata Sons, which is the holding company of group companies of the Tata group. It has been Ratan Tata’s wish that the Tata Trusts work in important areas such as malnutrition, cancer treatment, sanitation and education. The people who have been selected by the trust to lead, have knowledge and experience in such areas.
