Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022 Semifinal: Mumbai registered a massive five-wicket win over Vidarbha in the second semi-final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Batting first, Vidarbha had scored a good score of 164 runs, but Mumbai easily achieved this score on the strength of Shreyas Iyer. Now in the final, they will face Himachal Pradesh, who have made it to the final by defeating Punjab.

Vidarbha put up a good score thanks to Jitesh

Batting first, Vidarbha lost their two wickets for 28 runs. The middle order tried to handle the innings, but the team lost five wickets for 95 runs in 12 overs. After this, Jitesh Sharma played a smoky innings of 46 not out in 24 balls to take Vidarbha to a good score. Jitesh hit three fours and three sixes in his innings. Shams Mulani took the highest three wickets for Mumba, spending only 20 runs in four overs.

Shreyas Iyer gives Mumbai easy victory

Chasing the score, Mumbai also got early setbacks when they lost two wickets for 31 runs. However, after this, Prithvi Shaw (34) took charge of the innings by sharing 43 runs for the third wicket with Iyer. After Shaw’s dismissal, Iyer put on a big partnership of 71 runs for the fourth wicket with Sarfaraz Khan. Iyer was dismissed on the first ball of the 16th over after playing a brilliant innings of 73 runs in 44 balls. Mumbai won the match with 19 balls to spare.
