Suryakumar Yadav: The ODI series of India and Australia has not been good at all for Suryakumar Yadav. Suryakumar Yadav got out on a golden duck in all the three matches of the current ODI series against Australia. This means that he got out on the first ball of three consecutive ODIs and went back to the pavilion. Suryakumar Yadav is the number one batsman in T20 and he has scored a lot of runs in T20 matches during the last one year. However, Suryakumar has not done anything special in the ODI format so far. The Indian team is preparing for the ODI World Cup and hence captain Rohit Sharma is trying out Suryakumar Yadav in the middle order.
Surya out for the third time in a row
Due to Shreyas Iyer’s injury, Surya got a chance to play in all three consecutive matches, but the number one T20 batsman could not even open his account. For Surya, this is a hat-trick of golden ducks in his career, which is not often seen. The first ODI match between India and Australia was played in Mumbai, where Surya was dismissed lbw by Mitchell Starc on an inside ball. After that, the second match between India and Australia was played in Visakhapatnam and in that match too, Mitchell Starc got Surya out LBW on the first ball in a similar way.
First this happened with Sachin
After that the third match was played in Chennai and in this match Australian all-rounder Aston Agar bowled Surya on the first ball on his spin ball. In this way Surya made a hat-trick of golden duck. However, many Indian batsmen have scored a hat-trick of ducks in ODIs even before Surya. The biggest name in this list is that of Sachin Tendulkar, who in 1994 was out for zero in three consecutive ODIs. After that, Anil Kumble, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah have also made hat-trick of getting out on zero in ODIs.
