Indian Railway Ticket Transfer Rule: People are often worried about confirming the reservation in Indian Railways. Many times people plan to go somewhere with the family, but despite having a confirmed ticket, they are not able to go. In this case, instead of canceling the ticket, you can transfer the ticket to someone else. However, this ticket can be shared only with family members. You can transfer your parents, sister, brother, son-daughter, husband-wife.

To take advantage of this service, passengers have to apply at least 24 hours before the departure of the train. Ticket transfer can be availed only once per person. If a person has already transferred the ticket to someone, then he cannot avail this service for the second time. The person who wants to transfer the ticket will have to show some documents to the Railways. For this, ID card, blood relation copy and ticket copy of both the passengers will have to be submitted to the nearest PRS counter.

Indian Railways has shared the information about transfer of tickets from its Twitter handle in a fun way. Tweeting just like Salman Khan’s movie ‘Kisi Ka Bhai, Kisi Ki Jaan’, shared a graphics. It is written that ‘someone’s ticket, someone’s journey’, which tells that another person in the family can travel on someone’s ticket.
