Then how did Goddess Sita get to King Janak, let us know the birth story of Mother Sita.
How was mother Sita born? (Sita Navami Story)
According to the scriptures, King Janak did not lack anything, his life was full of wealth and grains but he had no children. Because of this, King Janak used to be very disappointed. Once there was a severe famine in Mithila. The people became very upset due to the shortage of food and water. In such a situation, sages advised Janak ji to organize a yagya in the state, before the completion of the yagya, Janak ji had to plow the game with his own hands.
Girl child Sita found in field excavation
As told by the sages, Janak ji started plowing the field, when suddenly his plow collided with some metal. Even after trying a lot, when Janak ji could not remove it, he started digging that place. An urn came out from there. As soon as Janak ji removed the lid of the urn, a newborn girl was seen smiling in it. King Janak did not have any children, so considering that girl as his daughter, he took her to the palace and named the girl Sita.
How did the name ‘Sita’ come about?
King Janak got Sita when the Kalash collided with the plow during the excavation. The pointed part on the front side of the plow is called Sita, hence she was named Sita. King Janak used to caress Goddess Sita a lot, so she became famous as Janaki and Janak Dulari. The place where Goddess Sita appeared is known as Sitamarhi. Even today, the birth anniversary of Goddess Sita is celebrated with great pomp in Sitamarhi.
