Sensex closed with a jump of 550 points due to the rise in banking-NBFC stocks

Stock Market Closing On 4th May 2023: Due to tremendous buying in banking and NBFC stocks, the Indian stock market has closed at a brisk pace. By the way, buying was seen in the shares of all the sectors except the FMCG sector in the Indian markets. Fed’s increase in interest rates did not have any negative effect on the sentiment of Indian markets. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex closed at 61,749 with a jump of 556 points and the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 18,255 points with a jump of 166 points.

In today’s business, shares of Banking, IT, Pharma, Metals, Energy, Infra, Consumer Durables, Healthcare, Oil and Gas sectors closed with gains, while only FMCG stocks saw a decline. Buying was also seen in smallcap and midcap stocks. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 21 closed with gains and 9 closed with losses. Whereas, out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 37 stocks closed up and 13 closed down.

In today’s trade, Bajaj Finance closed with a gain of 3.43%, HDFC 2.64%, HDFC Bank 2.08%, Bajaj Finserv 2.06%, Asian Paints 1.82%, SBI 1.72%, TCS 1.26%, Reliance 1.16%. While IndusInd Bank closed down by 0.98 per cent, Nestle by 0.76 per cent, Tata Motors by 0.65 per cent, ITC by 0.62 per cent, Power Grid by 0.40 per cent.

Tremendous jump in investor wealth

Due to the boom in the stock market in today’s business, there has been a jump of Rs 2 lakh crore in the wealth of the investors. The market cap of companies listed on BSE reached Rs 275.16 lakh crore, which was Rs 273.24 lakh crore on Wednesday. That is, there has been an increase of Rs 1.92 lakh crore in the wealth of investors in today’s trade.
