BCCI New Selection Committee: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may soon announce the new selection committee. For this, the Cricket Advisory Committee (Cricket Advisory Committee) has started interviewing the candidates. If reports are to be believed, CSC has so far interviewed candidates like Ajay Ratra, Amay Khursiya and S Sarath. Apart from this, the Cricket Advisory Committee has also interviewed Chetan Sharma and Harvinder Singh. It is being said that the return of Chetan Sharma as the chief selector is possible.
Candidates gave presentation
Shortlisted candidates made a presentation before the CSC for the new selection committee. The panel will submit its recommendation to the board this week. Former India Test opener Shivsundar Das is also among the shortlisted candidates. Apart from him there is Tamil Nadu batsman S Sharath. Who is presenting a strong claim as a replacement for Sunil Joshi. Sharath is currently the chairman of the panel of the junior men’s team. This is the same S Sharath under whose leadership India’s Under-19 world winning team was selected last year.
Chetan Sharma can continue in the post
It was reported on 2 January (Monday) that Chetan Sharma may continue as chief selector. Because Chetan was recently a part of BCCI’s review meeting. BCCI has shortlisted 20 cricketers in this meeting. These players will be given a chance in Team India under the rotation policy before the 50-over World Cup. Then the best performing players out of these will be selected in the World Cup team this year. The BCCI disbanded the selection committee after the Indian team’s poor performance in the T20 World Cup 2022.
