WPL Auction 2023, Richa Ghosh: In the women’s IPL auction, Indian team’s star wicket-keeper batsman Richa Ghosh was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for 1.9 crores. 19-year-old Richa is currently a part of the Indian team in the T20 World Cup being played in South Africa. After being sold for crores in the IPL auction, he has now dreamed of buying a house for his parents. Richa wants to buy a house for her parents in Kolkata.
Richa said while talking, “My parents wanted me to play for India. I want to captain my team and win a big trophy for India. I want to buy a flat in Kolkata. I want my parents to be there. Now I want him to enjoy his life. He has struggled a lot in his life and he has worked hard for me. Even now my father does umpiring. After the auction, I hope they don’t have to work so hard.”
Richa’s father Manabendra Ghosh told before the women’s IPL auction that this will greatly improve women’s cricket in the country and it will also help all the upcoming cricketers financially. He said, “I have no personal expectations from Richa. This is the beginning of something good. State level players can also play at the big level. They will also get financial support. Seeing players playing WPL, a lot of young girls will be inspired and determined to play cricket.”

Richa made her international debut in 2020. He has played a total of 17 ODIs and 31 T20 International matches for Team India so far. In ODIs, he has scored 311 runs at an average of 22.21. In this, he has scored 2 half-centuries. At the same time, in T20 International, he has scored 458 runs at an average of 24.10 and a strike rate of 135.50.
