Relief to the contract before September 8
The central government can export broken rice that has been contracted or ordered before 8 September 2022. The deadline for exporting by the government is 31 March 2023, that is, you can export by the month of March of next year.
Why was the ban imposed?
Let us tell you that the Central Government had banned the export of Broken Rice to control the rising prices of rice in the country. However, the scope of the ban on export of rice can be extended further. The government had also decided to impose 20 per cent duty on the export of various grades of rice.
India is the largest producer of rice
India is considered to be the largest producer of rice after China. India accounts for 40 per cent of the global rice trade. The government has imposed an export duty of 20 per cent on non-basmati rice except Usna rice. The area under paddy crop has decreased significantly in the current Kharif season. In such a situation, the Modi government has taken this step to increase the domestic supply.
