RBI MPC Meeting: RBI gives relief, there is no need to visit the bank to get Re-KYC done

RBI Governor: RBI (Reserve Bank Of India) has given great relief to the bank customers. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has said that bank account holders need not visit the bank branch again and again to update their details. He said that apart from updating the change in home address, bank customers will now be able to update Re-KYC (Know Your Customer) online from home.

According to RBI KYC Norms Guidelines, banks have to update the identification details of account holders after a period. According to the rules of RBI, the KYC of the customers is done at the time of opening the bank account, but the customers have to get the KYC done again when asked by the bank, on the basis of which necessary documents like Aadhaar, proof of home address have to be submitted.

Addressing the press conference after announcing the monetary policy, the RBI governor has said that bank customers can get their KYC done again without visiting the branch. The RBI governor said that despite this, if the banks force the customers to come to the bank branch to get KYC done, then the customers can file the same complaint.

Earlier, while announcing the last monetary policy for the year 2022, RBI has increased the repo rate by 0.35 percent. Now the repo rate has become 6.25 percent. After which it is believed that the loan is going to be expensive once again. Apart from this, RBI said that soon the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) services will be expanded. Through this, customers will be able to make on-demand payments for shopping or hotel booking on e-commerce platforms, investment in security and delivery of goods or services.
