Rapid Rail: After three weeks, the country’s first rapid rail with facilities like airplane will start running from Sahibabad in Ghaziabad to Duhai Depot. Its first section is 17 km long between Sahibabad to Duhai Depot. Rapid Rail on this section is to be started for travel from next month. The work of making track on this section has been completed and now the work of installation of overhead equipment line is also almost complete. From next month, it will start running at a speed of 180 kmph for passengers between Duhai Depot and Sahibabad.
How many stations will be there and how will you be able to get tickets
There will be 5 stations on this route, in which Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai and Duhai Depot are there. During this journey, passengers will also be able to buy tickets here through mobile and card. The special thing is that a stretcher has been arranged in the last compartment of the rail coach. If a patient is referred from Meerut to Delhi, then a separate coach is arranged for this, so that the patient can be transported at a lower cost. With this, separate coaches have been arranged for women. Apart from this, separate seats have been prepared for the disabled, which can be folded in case of non-use.

Although the train travel time will be only 55 minutes, the seats have been made extremely comfortable. There is an adjustable chair in the train, along with this, special arrangements have also been made for the standing passengers. How much will be the fare of rapid rail
According to DPR estimates, the train fare will be around Rs 2 per km. The private agency will not have the right to increase the fare later. Like Metro, the fare will be decided by the committee, which is formed under the chairmanship of the judge. There will be rapid line connectivity on seven lines of Delhi Metro. It will be connected to Munirka, INA and Aerocity.
What are the updates on the route between Delhi to Meerut?
Rapid train is to be made operational between Delhi to Meerut in the year 2025. This entire railway corridor is to be completed in three sections. The second phase will be from Sahibabad to Meerut. This phase will be completed by March 2024. After this, the last phase will be from Modipuram in Meerut to Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi. The work of this phase will start by 2025. There is a provision for parking 13 trains in Duhai yard, so preparations are being made to operate only 13 rapid trains in the first phase, whereas after the construction of the entire route between Delhi and Meerut, a total of 30 rapid trains are ready to run. Operation and Command Control Center of Rapid Rail Corridor is being prepared in Duhai Yard of Ghaziabad. With the first phase starting in a few weeks, operation and control of all rapid trains running on the entire route will be commanded from this operations centre.
RRTS is a joint venture between the UP government and the central government.

The Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) is a Rs 30,274-crore joint venture between the Central and Uttar Pradesh governments.

The architectural and design work has been finalized for the 17 km long priority section from Sahibabad to Duhai covering five stations Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai and Duhai Depot. The construction work is in advanced stage. Kovid-19 had put a brake on all the activities, due to which the work of Rapid Rail was also affected, but it will be ready for the passengers on time.
Passengers will be able to reach Meerut from Delhi in 1 hour
The UP government had allocated Rs 1,326 crore for the project in the current financial year. According to the RRTS project, 24 stations will be built along the entire corridor. Vinay Kumar Singh said, our target is that in 2025, passengers of Delhi will be able to reach Meerut in one hour by rapid rail. We estimate that in 2025, 8 lakh passengers will travel daily on Rapid Rail.
what is the plan next
According to RRTS, approval has been received from Haryana and Delhi government for the 106 km route from Sarai Kale Khan to SNB for the rapid rail to be built from Sarai Kale Khan to Alwar. It is expected that soon the central government will also approve it. At present, the pre-construction work is going on for this, so that after getting the approval, the construction work can be started as soon as possible.
