Indian Railways: The year 2022 has proved to be very good for Indian Railways. In the current financial year 2022-23, Railways has created a new record in the first eight months itself.
Railways have shown tremendous speed in the matter of making Electric Locomotive ie Electric Rail Engine. According to the information given by the Railway Ministry, from April 1 to November 30, 2022, a total of 614 electric rail engines have been manufactured by the Railways. In such a situation, the special thing is that compared to last year, this year the Railways has manufactured about 25.3 percent more locomotives.
Last year only so many locomotives were manufactured during this period
According to the information given by Railway News, in the financial year 2021-22, Railways had manufactured a total of 490 electric locomotives. All these locomotives were manufactured at Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) in Varanasi, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) in Chittaranjan and Patiala Locomotive Works (PLW) in Patiala. On the other hand, if we talk about this year, tremendous growth has been seen in the manufacturing of railways. This year, Railways has manufactured 614 electric locomotives in just 8 months.
Railways created a new record in freight
This year, Railways has also created a new record in terms of freight. Railways is playing a very important role in the freight movement of the country. In the current financial year 2022-23, on December 6, 2022, Railways has crossed the figure of 100.2 million tonnes of goods. Through this, Railways has earned Rs 1,08,593 crore. At the same time, till December 6, the Railways had carried a total of 92.64 crore tonnes of freight. In such a situation, a total increase of 8.25 percent has been registered in this figure this year.

Railway’s earnings from passenger fares also increased.
This year, along with the increase in the freight earnings of Railways, a 76 percent increase has also been recorded in the earnings from passenger fares. According to the information given by the Railways, from April 1 to November 30, 2022, the Railways has earned Rs 43,324 crore through fare. Whereas last year this figure was only Rs 24,631 crore. In such a situation, this year this earning is 76 percent more.
