Petrol Diesel Price in Pakistan: The Shahbaz Sharif government of Pakistan has given some relief to the common people from rising inflation. The government has decided to cut the price of petrol in the country by Rs 9 per litre. Giving information about this late night, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 9 per liter and diesel by Rs 7 per liter in Pakistan.

After this deduction, petrol is getting Rs 253 instead of Rs 262 and diesel Rs 253.50 per liter instead of Rs 260.50. The new rates have come into effect from Sunday, July 16.

The Finance Minister has not made any change in the price of kerosene oil and light diesel oil on Saturday. Currently, kerosene oil is being sold at Rs 230.26 a liter and light diesel oil at Rs 226.15 a litre. It is worth noting that the new rates fixed will be applicable from July 16 to July 31. Earlier on July 1 also, giving relief to the people, the government had reduced the price of petrol by Rs.8 per litre. At the same time, the price of diesel was cut by Rs 5 per litre.

Finance Minister said this

Giving information about the tax on petroleum products, Ishaq Dar said that the government has not imposed any additional tax to provide relief to the common people. He said that PM Shahbaz Sharif has taken this step only to provide relief to the common people. Earlier, under pressure from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Pakistan imposed a tax of Rs 55 per liter on petroleum products. After this, the price of petrol in the country had reached Rs 270.

Inflation in Pakistan has broken the back of the general public. However, in June 2023, the inflation rate in the country has reached the lowest level of 29.4 percent in seven months. Whereas in May the inflation rate was 38 percent. Whereas in April this rate was 36.4 percent. Food and drink are very expensive in the country even after the reduction in inflation, but after the reduction in the price of petrol and diesel by the government, the common people will definitely get some relief.
