Bank Five Days Working: Bank employees may soon get permission to work only 5 days a week. According to a report, the United Forum of Bank Employees and the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) have moved ahead with the discussion on the long-standing five-day work week.
According to the Times of India report, if the notification is issued then these employees can work from Monday to Friday. It has been said in the report that both have agreed to work for five days in a week.
Every Saturday has to be declared a holiday
S Nagarajan, general secretary of the All India Bank Officers’ Association, said that according to section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, Saturday’s holiday has to be declared by the government every time. He said that this agreement was for a short time and it was not subject to salary. The TOI report said that the government also agreed to this and said that the RBI should also accept the plan.
working hours will increase
After this is implemented, the employees will work 40 minutes extra every day from 9:45 am to 5:30 pm. At present, banks remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. In such a situation, there is a lot of confusion among the customers. Bank unions have been advocating for five days work for a long time.
This work will be done digitally
Bank customers can do many things online during the holiday. In addition, can complete mobile banking, ATM and other functions. However, the passbook attached to the bank branch will not be able to print, take a loan or complete any other important work.
When will this proposal be applicable
According to a report by CNBC Awaz, the Finance Ministry may approve it soon. The ministry had said that the employees of Indian Association and United Forum Bank have agreed to this agreement. However, the working time of the employees will increase by 40 minutes.
