Ponting made a big statement about the Nagpur Test, told who is responsible for preparing the pitch

Ricky Ponting on Nagpur Pitch: For the last one month, many statements have come out from Australia regarding Indian pitches. Sometimes it is said that fair pitches are not prepared in India, sometimes it is said that there is no point in playing practice matches in India because BCCI does not provide pitches in practice matches as Indian pitches actually are. In the midst of all these statements, the controversy increased when the pictures of the Nagpur pitch surfaced.

In fact, the off-stump part of the left-handed batsmen was kept dry in the Nagpur pitch. Neither water was given here nor rolling was done. Due to this, left-handed batsmen will have to face difficulties here. This was done at the behest of the Indian team management. Actually, five batsmen in the top-8 in Australia’s team are left-handed. In such a situation, there will be a big problem for Australia here. In the midst of these ongoing controversies regarding the pitch, now former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has given a big statement. He has said that the only difference between India and Australia is that in Australia the responsibility of preparing the pitch lies with the groundsman only, he is not given any kind of instructions.

‘We don’t talk to the groundsman about the pitch here’
Talking on the ‘ICC Review Show’, Ponting said, ‘The only difference between Australia and India is that in Australia the player or any other person does not give any instructions about preparing the pitch. When I used to play and even after me, all the captains who came or no one from Cricket Australia would talk to the groundsman about the pitch. You should leave it to the groundsman to prepare the best wicket.

‘This is the way India has to beat Australia’
On the Nagpur pitch, Ponting says, ‘Like everyone else, I also got a chance to see that (Nagpur) pitch a few days ago. And since the time that pitch has been seen, all these things have started since then. By the way, this is the best chance that India has to prepare a turning wicket to beat Australia. He also does this because he knows that our batsmen have problems on such pitches and then he also knows that they have better spin bowlers than our spinners.
