India vs Pakistan World Cup 2023: PCB chief Rameez Raja has reiterated that his cricket team may boycott the ODI World Cup to be held in India next year if Pakistan is denied the opportunity to host the Asia Cup in 2023. However, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board mentioned that he would like the two countries to host each other again. Pakistan and India have not played anywhere other than ICC tournaments since 2013 due to strained political relations between the two countries.
Earlier this October, tensions between the two cricket boards flared up again after BCCI secretary Jay Shah reportedly said that Team India would not travel to Pakistan and demanded a change of venue to a neutral host. . In response, the PCB threatened to pull out of the ODI World Cup, to be held within a month of next year’s Asia Cup.
Speaking to Sky Sports Cricket on Saturday, Rameez Raja said, “We don’t really want to go there, but it’s just that the fans want us to react.” Because of that the fans are not happy at all.”
Rameez further termed BCCI’s stand as ‘unfair’ and said that PCB would oppose the change of venue for the Asia Cup. “I think the government has a policy and I don’t know whether they will come or not,” he said. Asia Cup means a lot to the fans, it is a multi-country tournament. We will protest.”

He said, “I am in favor of India-Pakistan matches, I have said this on record. I love the fans, and they love us too. Pakistan has become a brand in international cricket; Got fans, and I know Pakistan is the second most watched team in India after India, so they should be interested in our development.”
He said, “We want to go and play, but the fact is it has to be on equal terms. You can’t be under a certain cricket board. We are now playing a good amount of cricket without India.”
