Kamran Akmal on Babar Azam: Pakistan team recently played a 5-match home T20I series against New Zealand, which ended in a 2-2 draw with one inconclusive match. Pakistan had to face a crushing defeat by 6 wickets in the fifth match. Babar Azam-led Pakistan won the first two matches. However, after losing the last match of the series in Rawalpindi, former Pakistan player Kamran Akmal raised many questions on Babar Azam’s captaincy. He said that even after four years he does not know how to captain.

Talking on his YouTube channel, Kamran Akmal said, “When it comes to their mistakes, they criticize us and accuse us. Our focus is not on his performance but on his captaincy. We are not blind to their quirks. After four years he (Babar Azam) doesn’t know how to captain. He does not even know which bowler to give the ball at what time. If he repeats the mistake again and again, it will not be surprising that he will lose. Don’t control your mistakes, that’s why they won.

Babar not happy with Babar’s decisions as captain

Kamran Akmal was not at all happy with Babar Azam’s decisions as captain on the field. Taking his point further, he said, “If both the right-handed batsmen were present at the crease, then the ball should have been given to Iftikhar Ahmed. But instead we saw leg-spinner Shadab Khan bowling and he was washed out by the Kiwi batsmen.”

Significantly, Kiwi batsman Mark Chapman had a big contribution in winning the last match to New Zealand. Chasing runs, Chapman scored an unbeaten century while batting at number five. He scored an unbeaten 104 runs in 57 balls with the help of 11 fours and 4 sixes.
