According to the report of Cricbuzz, BCCI has also told all the franchises that no foreign player can become an impact player. It is clear that at the time of toss, the captain will give the list of impact players along with the list of playing eleven, but no foreign player will be named in that list of impact players.

What is the rule of ‘Impact Player’
According to this rule, teams will be able to strategically field any one player as a substitute. At the time of the toss, the teams will have to name their four substitute players along with the playing XI. Out of these four players, the team will be able to use any one player as an ‘Impact Player’. Substitute can be fielded till the 14th over of the match.

A total of 991 players have registered themselves in the mini auction to be held for IPL 2023. This includes 714 Indian players and 277 foreign players. Most of these foreign players will include 57 players from Australia. Apart from this, South Africa will have a total of 52 players.
