7th Pay Commission: Hearing has been held on the petition in the Supreme Court for Dearness Allowance (Dearness Allowance) to government employees and pensioners of West Bengal in terms of 7th Finance Commission i.e. 7th Pay Commission. The next hearing in this case will be on April 24 i.e. Monday. On the other hand, a protest is going on at Jantar Mantar in the capital regarding DA hike. Apart from DA dues at the rate of the Central Government, demonstrations are going on for regularization of temporary workers and for recruitment on vacant posts in a transparent manner.

The agitators said that it is not possible to get an appointment with the president in such a short time, so the deputation will be given through e-mail. Today the deputation of the agitators is to be handed over to Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. Due to the exit of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, her ministry will also be deputed. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is in Karnataka, but Union Minister of State for Education Subhash Sarkar is going to come for dharna at Jantar Mantar today.

Meanwhile, the High Court has already taken action on the DA issue. The Acting Chief Justice’s bench has directed the state to hold talks with the workers by April 17. According to the order of the court, three people will hold talks with the government on behalf of the employees’ union.

People sitting on responsible posts including Chief Secretary, Finance Secretary should talk to the employees’ union to find a positive solution. Acting Chief Justice TS Sivaganam directed the state. The advice of the High Court was that, ‘Employees are going on strike again and again. Government action is needed.
