• Sandalwood, Roli, Havan Kund, Mango wood, Gangajal, Areca nut, Turmeric
• Dry coconut, red kalava, desi ghee, camphor, incense, guggal, incense sticks
• Banana or mango leaves, 5 fruits, frankincense, honey, flowers, scarlet cloth,
• Akshat, Charanamrit, Sweets, Sycamore bark, Betel leaves, Panchmeva
• Havishya – Mix cow’s ghee, clove, frankincense, cardamom, guggal, barley, camphor, rice, black sesame.

Method of Navratri Havan (Navratri Navami Hawan Vidhi)

• Do Havan on Navami day after seeing the auspicious time. Havan should be done in front of Goddess Durga, after retiring from her bath, apply cow dung where you are doing Havan.
• Now sanctify that place by sprinkling a little Ganges water. Make Rangoli with flour and place a havan kund on it. Add mango wood and ghee to it. Then ignite the fire by adding camphor.
• First of all, offer the names of Ganesh ji, Panchdevta, Navagraha with ghee in the Havan Kund. According to the scriptures, at the time of Havan, husband and wife should sit together and offer sacrifice.
• Now while chanting the mantras of Mother Durga, keep pouring Ghee and Havishya. After every mantra, you must say Swaha, only then the offering is considered complete. The Goddess is very pleased when she makes an offering while chanting the Beej Mantra 108 times, ‘Om Hreem Klein Chamundai Vichai Namah’.
• It is considered very fruitful to offer sacrifices while chanting all the mantras of Durga Saptashati while reciting rivulet, argala, kavach in the havan of Navratri.
• Finally put dry coconut and all the havishyas in the havan kund. This is called Purnahuti. Now apply wet turmeric all over the red cloth. All the people who are sitting in the havan should hold the cloth stretched and um purnamad: purnamidam purnat punya mudachyate, punasya purnamadaya purnamel visisyate svaha. While speaking, put it in the pool.
• In the end, perform the aarti of the Goddess and apply Bhabhut around the head and neck. It is considered auspicious to do so.

• According to the scriptures, the god Agni, in the name of the deity in whose name the havan is performed, conveys his portions to them through Havishya. Due to this, the deities are very pleased and the wishes of the devotee are fulfilled.
• Performing Havan on Navami day gives auspicious results for nine days of Navratri. Also, it gives the boon of health.
• Havan done with chanting of mantra destroys negative energy and sadhak gets freedom from mental stress. While doing the havan, keep in mind that the sacrifice should not fall down and go only in the pool.
• The full fruit of the Havan is attained only when the devotee is devoted whole-heartedly to the Mother Goddess. In such a situation, do not talk at the time of Havan because every mantra has an effect on the seeker. Talking in between will distract the mind.
