India Vs South Africa ODI Series: Due to the exclusion of Jasprit Bumrah from the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia, a new challenge has arisen in front of Team India. As a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah, the name of Mohammed Shami is leading the way. Although Shami has been away from the field for some time, so the selectors can try him in the ODI series against South Africa.
Actually Mohammed Shami has not participated in T20 format since IPL. Shami was selected in the squad for the T20 series against Australia and South Africa. But due to being Corona positive, Shami could not become a part of the team. However, now Shami’s Kovid 19 report has come negative.
According to the report of Inside Sport, “Shami’s corona report has come negative. But Shami will have to report to the National Cricket Academy. Not being able to play Shami’s match is a matter of concern for us. Shami needs to be match fit. The selectors may ask Shami to play the ODI series before leaving for Australia.
Siraj is also in the race
Mohammed Shami was included in the reserve players for the World Cup. Shami was to leave for Australia with the rest of the team on October 6. But because of Bumrah’s injury, the whole situation has changed. The selectors have time till October 15 to announce the replacement of Bumrah.
Apart from Shami, Mohammed Siraj is also in the race as a replacement for Bumrah. Siraj has been included in the squad for the remaining two T20 matches against South Africa. If Siraj performs well in these two matches, then he can become the front runner in the race to replace Bumrah.
