Hailing from Vijayawada, the 30-year-old Thotakura has been deeply entrenched in the world of aviation since his youth, defying conventional norms to pursue his passion for flight. Blue Origin’s NS-25 Mission
Apart from Thotakura, the mission will feature former Air Force Captain Ed Dwight, selected by US President John F. Kennedy in 1961 as the country’s first Black astronaut candidate.
The NS-25 mission not only represents a тАЬsignificant leap in personal space travel but also heralds a new era of sustainability in space explorationтАЭ. In its statement, Blue Origin said, тАЬOur focus on reusability and environmental consciousness underscores its dedication to minimising the ecological impact of space travelтАЭ.
“Each astronaut will carry a postcard to space on behalf of Blue OriginтАЩs foundation, Club for the Future. This program gives students access to space on Blue OriginтАЩs rockets, including an all-digital method to create and send postcards, which can be found here. The ClubтАЩs mission is to inspire and mobilize future generations to pursue careers in STEAM for the benefit of Earth,” Blue Origin said.┬а
“From an environmental standpoint, nearly 99% of New ShepardтАЩs dry mass is reused, including the booster, capsule, engine, landing gear, and parachutes. New ShepardтАЩs engine is fueled by highly efficient liquid oxygen and hydrogen,” it said.┬а
