Market returns to decline after two days of rally, Sensex closes down 290 points

Stock Market Closing On 23rd March 2023: After two days of boom, selling has returned again in the stock market. Due to profit booking by investors, the market has seen a decline. Whereas after the US Fed Reserve increased the interest rates by a quarter percent and despite the huge fall in the US stock market, the Indian markets opened with a boom in the morning. But the effect of the fall in the European market was also seen on the Indian markets after noon. At the close of the market, the BSE Sensex fell by 290 points to 57,925 points and the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty fell by 75 points to close at 17,077 points.

In today’s business, there was a boom in the shares of Pharma, FMCG, Metals, Healthcare sector. While the shares of banking, IT, energy sector closed down. Midcap and small cap stocks also closed in the red. Of the 30 Sensex stocks, 13 closed with gains and 17 with losses. Of the 50 Nifty stocks, 20 closed with gains and 30 closed down.

Investors have suffered losses due to the fall in the stock market. The market cap of companies listed on BSE has come down to Rs 2571.0 lakh crore, while it was Rs 257.99 lakh crore on Wednesday. Investors have suffered a loss of Rs 89,000 crore in today’s trading session.
