Manoj Tiwary On His Retirement: Manoj Tiwary scored an unbeaten 60 in the second innings of the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 match played between Bengal and Uttar Pradesh. Due to his innings, the Bengal team was successful in defeating Uttar Pradesh by 6 wickets. Meanwhile, veteran batsman Manoj Tiwary has indicated retirement from cricket after this domestic season. He wants Bengal to win the Ranji Trophy title this season. Manoj Tiwari is currently captaining Bengal. Because regular captain Abhimanyu Easwaran is currently on Bangladesh tour with Team India.

In the last season of Ranji Trophy, the Bengal team reached the semi-finals where they lost against Madhya Pradesh. Bengal last won the Ranji Trophy title in 1989–90. Since then, the Bengal team has played three finals in 2005-6, 2006-7 and 2019-20. Manoj Tiwari was a part of the losing team all the three times. But now he has expressed his desire to win the title. This season, he wants to take the team to the next level.

Experienced batsman Manoj Tiwary is leading the team in the absence of regular skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran. Abhimanyu is on Bangladesh tour with Team India. Manoj Tiwary, who is captaining the team for the first time after three seasons, said he is handling the responsibility well in Abhimanyu’s absence.
