PM Modi in UAE: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a two-day visit to UAE, will inaugurate the first Hindu stone temple in Abu Dhabi. The consecration ceremony of the BAPS temple is underway ahead of the inauguration by the prime minister later today. PM Modi addressed a massive crowd of Indian diaspora at the Ahlan Modi event in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

He said that what India and UAE have achieved in terms of community integration, is a model for the whole world. Amid the cheers from the ecstatic gathering, the prime minister said, “At this historic stadium, every heartbeat, every breath, every voice says ‘Long live India-UAE friendship….”

On the first day of his visit to UAE, PM Modi also held talks with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This is the prime minister’s seventh visit to the UAE since 2015.

The Prime Minister said the ties between the two strategic partners serve as a model for the world and they are scripting a new history in the third decade of the 21st century.

Underscoring the ancient community and cultural ties between the two countries, Modi also spoke a few lines in Arabic, which he later translated as how both India and the UAE are scripting a better future on ‘duniya ki kitaab’ (the world’s book) with ‘waqt ki kalam’ (the pen of time).

He was given a guard of honour on his arrival in the country. In his statement before his departure, Modi said he is looking forward to further advancing India’s comprehensive strategic partnership with the UAE.

He also said he was fortunate to have been bestowed with the prestigious Order of Zayed, the highest civilian award of the UAE. The prime minister said the UAE is now India’s third-largest trade partner and seventh-largest investor. Both countries are collaborating on ease of living and ease of doing business, he added. Today every single Indian’s aim is to make India a developed nation by 2047.
