Pelé is the only player to win the World Cup three times, having won the FIFA World Cup, the sport’s most prestigious trophy, in 1958, 1962 and 1970.

Pele’s daughter Kelly Cristina Nascimento shared a picture on Instagram after her father’s death. In this picture, the people of Pele’s family are seen giving their last farewell.

In this picture, Pele is on a hospital bed and is on a drip. Kelly wrote with the picture, “We will always love you.” Grateful for whatever you have done for us so far.


Pele was admitted to the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo on 29 November last month for treatment of a respiratory infection and chemotherapy. In recent years, he had faced several health problems including his spine, hip, knee and kidney.

After his death, the family has issued a statement from Pele’s official Twitter handle.

Pele’s death is like a shock for football lovers. All the fans on social media are giving their last farewell to the football hero. Recently, French footballer Kylian Mbappé, who made the match memorable despite the defeat in the final of the FIFA World Cup, tweeted and paid tribute to him.

He wrote, “The King of Football may have left us but his legacy can never be forgotten.”
