inspirational stories of buddha
Once a devotee of Gautam Buddha said to him – Lord! I want to request you something. Buddha said, tell me what to say? The devotee said to Buddha that, Lord, my clothes have become old and are no longer wearable. You please try to give me new clothes. The Buddha saw that the clothes of the devotee were indeed very old and completely dilapidated. Not only this, the clothes were also worn out from place to place. Buddha immediately ordered to give a new cloth to his devotee.
After a few days, Buddha reached the hermitage of his devotee. Buddha asked him, are you feeling comfortable in your new clothes now. Let me know if you need anything else. The devotee said, thank you Lord. I am feeling very comfortable in these clothes, I do not need any other clothes right now. Buddha said that now that you have got new clothes, what did you do with your old clothes?
The devotee told Buddha that I am now using it to cover him. Buddha said, then what did you do with your old cover? The devotee said, yes, I have put it on the window like a curtain, because the curtains had become old. Buddha again asked the devotee that, so did you throw away the old curtains. The devotee said, no-no Lord, I am using the curtain in pieces to remove the hot utensils from the fire in the kitchen.
Buddha said oh, then you must have thrown away the old kitchen cloth. The devotee said, now I will use the kitchen cloth to wipe. When Buddha said, what happened to your old mop? The devotee said, Lord, he was very frayed and nothing could be done about him. That’s why I took out each thread of it and separated it and prepared it by making lights. I had published one of them yesterday in your room. Buddha was very pleased with his devotee. Because the devotee had the understanding that where and how old things can be used.
Learning: There are very few people who do not waste things. Today people remove a cloth after wearing it once or twice. Food is taken after filling it in a plate. But more food than eaten goes down the drain. Today in the modern era, we need such understanding. But unfortunately, we live in such a time, where memes are made on those who make mops of old clothes. Even if you do not make a mop of old clothes. But understand the usefulness of the object and avoid destroying the things used. Then whether it is old clothes, food, water or any other thing. Keep in mind that everything found in nature and life is blessed and priceless.
