Ramadan 2023, Last Ashra Importance: The month of Ramadan 2023 Mahe Calendar is considered very special for the people of the Muslim community. This year, the month of Ramadan has started from March 24, 2023, and since then the fasting people are keeping fast.
In Ramzan, fasting is observed for the whole 29-30 days. Today, on Wednesday, April 12, 20 fasts of the month of Ramzan will be completed and with this the third Ashra (10 days duration) of Ramzan will begin. Please tell that Ashra is an Arabic word. The month of Ramadan is divided into three Ashras i.e. parts and each Ashra is divided into 10-10 days-
The month of Ramadan is divided into three Ashras (Ramadan 2023 Mahe Calendar)
- The first Ashra is of 10 days from the beginning of Ramadan. This is called ‘Rahmat’. In this, the people of the Muslim community do good deeds, donate and treat everyone with love. During this, Allah blesses the residents who do good deeds.
- The second Ashra is ‘Maghfirat’ i.e. forgiveness. This happens from the 11th day to the 20th day of Ramadan. During this people worship Allah. It is believed that by praying during this time, Allah forgives the sins of his residents.
- The third Ashra of Ramadan is considered important. It is from 21st day to 29th or 30th day of Ramzan. In this, men and women sit in Itikaf. During Itikaf one has to stay at one place for the whole 10 days. There, things like eating, sleeping, reading Namaz etc. are done. On the other hand, many men worship Allah only by staying in the mosque for the whole 10 days. The third Ashra of Ramadan is considered to be the one who gets rid of hell.
Why is the last ‘Ashra’ of Ramadan special? (Mahe Ramzan 2023)
The nights from 21st to 29th or 30th of Ramadan are called the last Ashra of Ramadan. These are those nights, in which people stay in the same room or place and pray (remembrance) of Allah for the whole night, it is called Itikaf. In Islam, the nights of the third Ashra have been considered as the night of Ajr i.e. virtue. It is considered to be the night of getting Khalasi (deliverance) from Dozakh (hell). In the 64th verse of Surah Unam of the 7th Para (Chapter) of Quran-Pak, Prophet-Islam ordered Hazrat Mohammad that- ‘You tell (Murad Hazrat Mohammad) that Allah alone gives you (other people) freedom from them.’
This means that, only Allah can relieve people from every sorrow and hell and the way to reach Allah and get rid of hell is through fasting and prayer kept with patience and virtue.
Nights of Shab-e-Qadr
Shab-e-Qadr is an auspicious night of the holy month of Ramadan. It is believed that on this night the verses of the Holy Quran began to descend on Prophet Muhammad on earth through an angel named Jibril Jibril. It is believed that on this night God fulfills noble and justified wishes. Those who offer special Taraweeh prayers of Ramzan complete the Qur’an in this night, which is recited to those who offer Taraweeh prayers. Along with this, the Muslim women who recite Quran at home also complete the Quran.
On Shabe Qadr, after the night prayer, recite Fatiha early in the morning on the graves of relatives, near and dear ones, and pray for their Magfirat (salvation). There is also a belief that the status of a believer who worships Allah on the night of Shab-e-Qadr is elevated. Their sins are forgiven. Gets rid of the fire of hell.
