Kojagar Puja Vidhi (Sharad Purnima Laxmi Puja vidhi)
- Clean the whole house thoroughly on Sharad Purnima, because Mother Lakshmi sits where there is cleanliness.
- Light a lamp of ghee for bath in the morning and take a vow of fast in front of Goddess Lakshmi.
- In the moonrise period, be clean and wear white clothes and spread red cloth on the puja post.
- Now install Maa Lakshmi photo. Offer 11 lotus bags, cowrie, kumkum, akshat, rose flowers, betel nut, ashtagandha, sandalwood, water chestnut, betel leaf, makhana, cardamom to the goddess.
- It is said that on the night of Sharad Purnima, nectar showers from the rays of the moon, so keep kheer made of milk and rice under the open sky at night.
- After this, offer this kheer to Goddess Lakshmi. In the Nishita period i.e. at midnight, chant Om Shri Hreem Shrim Kamale Kamallaye Prasid Prasid Shrim Shrim Mahalakshmyai Namah 108 times by lighting 11 Ghee lamps.
- Night awakening is important in Kojagari Puja, so recite ‘Shrisukta’, ‘Kanakdhara Stotra’ or Shri Krishna Madhurashtakam in the worship of Goddess Lakshmi.
- Perform the aarti of Maa Lakshmi and break the fast by taking the prasad of Kheer the next day.
