Grant Bradburn Pakistan Cricket Team New Head Coach: Pakistan has appointed former New Zealand all-rounder Grant Bradman as the head coach of the men’s cricket team. His tenure will be of 2 years. Prior to this, Grant was a consultant to the Pakistan cricket team. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the appointment of Grant Bradman as the head coach on Saturday (May 13). Grant was in charge of the Pakistan team in the recently concluded ODI series against New Zealand. In this series, Babar Azam’s team won 4-1 against New Zealand. While the five-match T20 series played between the two countries was equal to 2-2.
Who is Grant Bradburn?
Grant Bradburn, 56, is a former New Zealand cricketer. He used to play as an all-rounder for the Kiwi team. Bradburn represented New Zealand in 7 Tests and 11 ODIs. He played for New Zealand for almost 11 years. After this he tried his hand at coaching. Former Scotland head coach Grant Bradburn was the fielding coach of the Pakistan team during the year 2018 to 2020. After this he worked for Pakistan in the National Cricket Academy.
PCB chairman Najam Sethi said in a statement, “In view of Bradburn’s experience, he has been made the head coach of the Pakistan cricket team”. According to the PCB chief, ‘Having worked with our men’s team at NCA, he understands our culture and cricket very well. He is the ideal candidate to take our team forward.
Mickey Arthur as Team Director
The Pakistan Cricket Board recently appointed former head coach Mickey Arthur as the team director. He has been appointed as the director of the Pakistan team for the 50-over Asia Cup apart from the three-ODI series against Afghanistan. Arthur was the head coach of Pakistan for a long time before this. He has also given online coaching to the Pakistan cricket team. Apart from this, former South African cricketer Andrew Putik will be the batting coach of the Pakistan cricket team for the next 2 years.
