Baba Deep Singh: Baba Deep Singh was such a warrior of Sikhs whose name still comes on top in the list of bravehearts. Baba Deep Singh was such a warrior from the land of Punjab who, after beheading the enemy from the battlefield, used to bring his head on his palm.
Baba Deep Singh was born in 1682 in Bahu Pind village of Amritsar. At the age of 12, Baba Deep Singh ji went to Anandpur Sahib with his parents. There Baba Deep Singh met the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Baba Deep Singh ji stayed there and served and at the behest of Guru Gobind Singh ji, his parents left him there.
In Anandpur Sahib, Baba Deep Singh learned the languages of his life, learned horse riding, learned hunting and weapons. At the age of 18, he sprinkled nectar and took an oath to keep the Sikhs safe.
Once due to a war, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh Ji entrusted the responsibility of Guru Granth Sahib to Baba Deep Singh. Baba Deep Singh made five copies of Guru Granth Sahib and these copies were sent to Akal Takht Patna Sahib, Sri Takht Hazur Sahib, Sri Takht Anandpur Sahib.
Baba Deep Singh sacrificed his head for the protection of Sikhism. While fighting with the Mughal rulers, his head got separated from his torso and he remembered the protection of Sikhism and his body stood up, he himself raised his head and circumambulated Shri Harmandir Sahib Amritsar and sacrificed his life there. His sacrifice is an example for Sikhism even today.
