1. Nutritionist Bhakti Kapoor recommends using lemon juice and eating foods rich in vitamin C. She says that you drink freshly squeezed lemon juice mixed with some drink daily. This is because lemon juice is rich in Vitamin C. Other food items rich in nutrients include green leafy vegetables, citrus fruits, broccoli and cucumbers. These food items contain a substance called citrate, which is helpful in preventing the formation of calcium stones.
2. To keep the kidney healthy, it is also important to avoid things that are high in salt. Nutritionists tell that food items with low potassium should be eaten, such as apples, grapes, carrots, green beans, cabbage and strawberries. Food items that are high in potassium include bananas, oranges, potatoes and tomatoes. People suffering from kidney problems should avoid excessive consumption of salt.
3. Celery juice can also help in keeping the kidney healthy. Nutritionists state that it contains mineral salts, which can help maintain and enhance kidney function. Drink 1-2 glasses of ajwain juice daily 30 minutes before your meal.
4. Bhakti Kapoor also told about the benefits of dandelion root for kidney. He said that antioxidant properties are found in dandelion flowers. Dandelion can keep the immune system strong. Dandelion is also used by herbalists to cleanse the Gall Bladder, Liver, Kidney.
