To avenge the murder of his father, Lord Parshuram cut off all the arms of Sahastrabahu, due to which he also died. Jamadagni’s father got life after the harsh penance of Parshuram ji.

The sage asked Parshuram to anoint Shiva with the water of the Ganges to get rid of the sin of killing Sahastrabahu. Parshuram ji traveled miles on foot and brought Ganges water in Kanwar. Near the ashram, he established a Shivling and performed Jalabhishek of Mahadev.
