Kamindu Mendis scored his fifth Test hundred in his eighth Test match in the ongoing Sri Lanka vs New Zealand second Test in Galle on Friday (September 27). Mendis had already become the first cricketer in the world to score a half-century in all of his first 8 Test matches.
In what is only the 13th innings of his Test career, Mendis already has over 900 runs and is all set to be among the fastest to breach the 1000-run mark in Test cricket. The left-handed batter got to the landmark ton with a single through the square leg region, followed by a trademark chilled out celebration, something which fans have seen quite a few times already in his young career.
