Jai Shah and Najam Sethi meet in Bahrain, will Team India go to Pakistan for Asia Cup?

[ad_1]

Jay Shah and Najam Sethi: Jay Shah, President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is currently in Bahrain. He has gone to Bahrain for an important meeting of ACC. This meeting has been held regarding the hosting of Asia Cup 2023. Here Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Najam Sethi will put the matter of Pakistan’s hosting rights in front of Jai Shah.

By the way, it seems almost impossible for Pakistan to host the Asia Cup 2023. This is because there is no possibility of the Indian team going to Pakistan. In such a situation, the Asia Cup can be shifted to UAE or Sri Lanka.

A PTI report quoted a BCCI source as saying, ‘Jay Shah is currently in Bahrain for the ACC meeting. BCCI’s stand is not going to change. We will not go to Pakistan because we have not got permission from the government to go.

Pakistan was supposed to host

Asia Cup 2023 was to be held in Pakistan only, but due to BCCI’s objection, now its chances are less visible. Actually, there has been a strong relationship between India and Pakistan for the last decade and a half. In this decade and a half, the Indian team has not gone on a tour of Pakistan even once. In such a situation, when there was talk of Asia Cup being held in Pakistan, in October last year, Jai Shah made it clear in a statement that the Indian team would not go to Pakistan.

Rameez Raja had threatened

After this statement of Jai Shah, there was a lot of discussion on this issue. Many former cricketers of Pakistan had termed this stand of BCCI as wrong. At that time, PCB chief Rameez Raja had even said that if the Indian team does not come to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, then the Pakistan team will also not participate in the ODI World Cup 2023 to be held in India. At present, the new PCB chief is trying to persuade the BCCI on this issue.
