[ad_1]

E-SIM: In 2017, Google launched the world’s first smartphone with the facility of E-SIM. After Google Pixel 2, Apple gave e-SIM facility in iPhone XS series in 2018. There are very few people in India who use e-sim. Today, through this article, we will tell you whether you should switch from physical SIM card to e-SIM card or not. We will tell you this here for both Android and iOS.

Converting from physical to e-SIM is easy but…

In India, Jio, Airtel and VI provide the facility of e-SIM to the customers. You can convert physical SIM card into e-SIM sitting at home but if you want to convert e-SIM into physical SIM card, then for this you have to go to the nearest telecom operator’s store. Means this work cannot be done sitting at home.

More security

If your iPhone is lost somewhere, then with the help of e-SIM, you can find your iPhone. Even if your iPhone is switched off, you can still find your iPhone through ‘Find my iPhone’ thanks to the e-SIM. This is because the E-SIM is activated inside the mobile which cannot be deactivated until the phone is opened. For this reason many people have started using e-SIM in iPhone.

Trouble transferring data

If you transfer e-SIM data from one phone to another phone, then this process in India is more than 2 hours. Although Apple has provided the facility of fast data transfer in the iOS 16 update for its latest model. But it doesn’t work in India. Whereas, if you want to take physical SIM card from one device to another, then this work is done in a few seconds.

Another important thing is that when you transfer the E-SIM from one phone to another, you will not receive SMS or OTP on Jio network for the next 24 hours. This means that you cannot use any service for 24 hours in which you need OTP. Like net banking or other work.

E-SIM facility only in few phones

There are very few smartphones in India that support e-SIM. This includes phones from Google, Apple, Samsung and Motorola. Now e-SIM facility is also available in Oppo phones. E-SIM facility is available on only a few selected phones of these companies.

Only after reading all these things make your decision.
